Scrap the cap

RCN members across the UK are protesting to scrap the cap

The cap on nursing pay is putting patient care at risk.

It devalues nurses and nursing, means people are not joining the profession and many people are leaving. And because there are not enough nurses, patients cannot get the care they need.

In May 2017, RCN members voted overwhelmingly to take action on nursing pay. So this summer, members across the UK are protesting to scrap the cap.

You can help by joining the protests, and by telling other RCN members and the wider public why the UK Government must scrap the cap on nursing pay.

14% real-terms fall in nursing pay since 2010.
