The role of school nurses in providing emergency contraception services in education settings

This position statement, which updates the RCN position statement published in 2006, and updated in 2012 and 2018, aims to clarify the responsibilities of school nurses when they are providing emergency hormonal contraception (EC) to students in education settings (schools, colleges, pupil referral units or any educational institution where there are young people).

This replaces publication 006 358.
