Join our Student Information Officer development programme in the West Midlands and fulfil your potential.
Student Information Officers (SIOs) are a network of RCN student members who work closely with the RCN to support and share information with their fellow students.
RCN West Midlands regards the SIO role as vital in ensuring the voice of nursing students across the region is heard by the RCN, employers and nurse education institutions.
We run a three-year learning and development programme which focuses on developing the leadership skills of our SIOs, strengthening their influence within workplaces, higher education establishments, the RCN and nationally, as well as identifying the issues that matter most to student nurses.
The programme* will cover:
Taking part in the programme is a great opportunity to access continuing professional development and network with peers, share ideas and learn from other nursing professionals and students.
The programme is accompanied by course materials in which you can summarise the work you do as an SIO at university or on placement, and these can be shared with your University Mentor.
Programme dates for 2019 will be published on this webpage very soon, and will also be communicated directly to all our regional SIOs.
The sessions will be held in the Cadbury Suite at the RCN West Midlands Regional Office and run from 9.30am until 3pm, forming part of a rolling development programme that covers a wide variety of professional subjects.
To find out more and to request a place on the programme please email Maria Lewis in the RCN West Midlands Regional Office.
