Hosted by the RCN Public Health Forum and the Greater Liverpool and Knowsley Branch, collaborating with Liverpool John Moores University's School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health, with Doctors of the World

This interactive seminar explores how nurses can lead safe, ethical, and innovative hospital care for people seeking sanctuary.

Drawing on learning from the Safe Hospital Programme and Nurse Champions initiative at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the session will examine real-world challenges in admission, discharge, and continuity of care. Through facilitated discussion, case examples, and voices from nurses with lived experience and their advocates, delegates will explore trauma-informed, rights-based nursing practice.

The purpose is to strengthen nurses’ confidence, regulatory understanding, and quality improvement capability when caring for people seeking sanctuary across acute and community settings.
