Work-related stress: moving beyond tokenism and buzzwords to real systematic change

05 Jun 2024, 08:00 - 08:45

  • 1A, ICC Wales, Coldra Woods, Newport, NP18 1HQ
Hosted by: RCN UK Learning Reps' Committee

Collaboration: East Midlands – Northamptonshire Branch, RCN Employment Relations Department – Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, RCN Rep Changemakers, Activism Academy

In this session members will get an introduction to the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Management Standards for work-related stress (which are UK-wide and apply across all work settings) including what they can expect from their employer as well as some ideas about what good management looks like when addressing work-related stress.

The session will also link to the RCN Nursing Workforce Standards 11-14 on health, safety and wellbeing and include a case study presentation from an RCN rep changemaker on an initiative taken forward in their workplace to address work-related stress, in partnership with the employer.

Members should leave the session understanding that they are not wrong (or alone) in feeling stress related to their work experience and with some practical ideas that they can take forward in their workplace.

Open to all members – clinical staff, HSW, managers, students – in all sectors.
