From the eighteenth century the medical role of nurses in the navy, especially the monitoring of patients for changes in symptoms, increased as medical practitioners left the bedsides of the sick.
This event will focus on safeguarding the health and safety of vulnerable people across Wiltshire and will include talks on sexual exploitation, prostitution, drug trafficking, and domestic violence. Open to all, this learning event will be especially relevant to students and nursing staff working in emergency care, urgent care, walk-in centres, general practice and sexual health. A light buffet lunch will be provided.
Torbay branch members are holding a study day on 23 June. The morning sessions are aimed at health care assistants and assistant practitioners while the afternoon sessions are for registered nurses. All are welcome - you can join the RCN on the day.
