Strike action for fair pay continues into 2024 at the Care Plus Group
Members of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) employed by Care Plus Group (CPG) are taking a week of industrial strike action from Monday 8 January 2024. They will be striking for five days from 7.00am on Monday 8 January to 8.00am on Saturday 13 January 2024 (inclusive).

Sheffield’s Alcohol Care Team is a newly developed service which provides support to patients with alcohol dependence; reducing repeat hospital stays and improving lives. Now they are celebrating winning two awards from their trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Discrimination, how to recognise it and what to do about it
Find out more about the RCN's work to tackle discrimination. Nikki Sharpe, RCN Legal Officer & Solicitor will deliver a one hour session about discrimination, how to spot it and what you can do about it. All members of the West Yorkshire branch are welcome to attend, you can check which branch you belong to by logging into MyRCN. The session will be followed by a branch meeting from 5pm.

Yorkshire and Humber reps' support network March
Join this network to meet other reps and get support and tips to help you in your role. These new online sessions will bring all reps together – Learning, Health and Safety and Stewards. The network sessions will be held on a monthly basis and we would encourage you to attend as many as possible. You can use facilities time or seek study leave from your employer. The sessions will be an opportunity to learn from each other develop a greater understanding of how the rep roles interlink ask questions and explore issues with experienced members of the regional team practice case work using case studies increase your knowledge on subjects you are less confident in. There will also be specific learning sessions, topics to be decided.

This student webinar is open to all student members across Northern and Yorkshire and the Humber regions. Sessions are held online and you will receive a link when you book your place.

Come to your local branch meeting and learning session. Alan Chalkley from RCN Library Servies will deliver a session on using the RCN Library.
