If you work in Brighton and Hove this is your branch. We also have a Facebook Group - find us and like us to keep up to date with all our news.
Latest branch update: Cathy Garner, Chairperson of the RCN Brighton & Hove Branch is standing down from this position and from her role as steward and Staff side Secretary at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals Trust (BSUH). Cathy has been a great advocate of the RCN during her tenure and has supported members extremely well in all of the roles she has undertaken , working in partnership with the organisation and staff side colleagues and will be sorely missed.
On the up side Cathy will still be putting her skills and experience to good use and is remaining within the RCN family as an RCN Regional Officer.
Cathy is one of only two stewards representing members in the whole of BSUH and never before is it so important for the voice of our members to be heard. We need more of our members like you to become involved, as there is so much more that can be done to make a difference in relation to your terms and conditions, culture, equality, health and safety and learning opportunities. The more of us that can offer to help in any way helps all of us.
We are calling on you to step forward, as Cathy herself once did, to become more active in your local RCN branch and with your employer. Cathy did not have prior experience of this type of role before but with the amazing development and mentorship programme that the RCN offer to representatives and activist, she became the skilled negotiator and organiser that she is today.
For an informal chat about the role of Chair to the RCN Brighton and Hove branch or the role of Steward or any other RCN roles, such as Learning representative or Health and Safety representative please call either Sue Bucksey Regional Officer on 02082539135 or Cathy Garner 07969463785.
We really do look forward to hearing from you.
