Nominations are now open for positions on the RCN UK Students Committee, across 9 different parts of the UK.
A place on the committee allows nursing students to act as a voice for their peers, while influencing RCN policy and activity. If you’re an RCN student member and you’re passionate about improving the student experience, you can nominate yourself for a committee position by 4.30pm on 11 October.
Positions are open for seats representing the following regions and countries: Eastern, East Midlands, London, North West, Northern, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South West, Wales.
The committee is made up of nursing students from across the UK. Its members are consulted on the development of RCN policy, student recruitment, and helping the RCN to communicate with and best serve its student members.
The committee’s current priorities include supporting the work of the RCN’s student ambassadors and influencing policies relating to nursing student funding.
Suzanne Davies, Chair of the RCN UK Students Committee, said: “If you’re passionate about shaping the future for nursing students, this is a huge opportunity to make a difference.
“Nursing students and the quality of our training and experience is more important than ever. By putting yourself forward to join the RCN UK Students Committee, you’ll have the chance to communicate the real hopes and concerns of students and take action to champion and support them. You’ll also gain so much in return – a new network of ambitious peers, opportunities to attend events and conferences, and a chance to think strategically about our profession.”
