EBSCO are one of our ebook providers. From 14 April 2026, there will be a new way to download and read EBSCO ebooks offline.

EBSCO are switching from Adobe Digital Editions to Thorium Reader as their offline ebook tool. If you want to read EBSCO books on your device, without an internet connection, you’ll need to install the free Thorium Reader app. No changes will be made to how you find EBSCO ebooks or how you read them online in your web browser.

Thorium Reader features include:

  • Text-to-speech (read-aloud)
  • Adjustable fonts, colours and lighting modes
  • Bookmarks, highlighting and note-taking
  • Export your annotations
