Peta Clark, Regional Director for RCN Yorkshire and the Humber, said:

"I am absolutely delighted and immensely proud that Rachel's outstanding contribution and unwavering commitment to nursing have been recognised in this way.

"Rachel has made a truly exceptional impact on both the profession and the RCN. She was instrumental in establishing the Professional Nursing Committee (PNC), helping to shape and strengthen its role, and her influence has extended far beyond this work.

"Through her contributions across the wider RCN, as well as her involvement with the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Board, Rachel has consistently demonstrated inspiring leadership, dedication and vision. She is a thoroughly deserving recipient of this honour.”

Her final role before retirement was Lead Nurse for Children’s Cancer in Leeds and across the Yorkshire and the Humber region.

She has made a significant contribution to the development of children’s cancer nursing and services, both regionally and nationally across the UK.

A Fellow of the RCN, Rachel has also contributed her expertise as a member of the Fellows Coordinating Committee.
