The RCN Northern Ireland Nurse of the Year Award is open to all registered nurses and midwives working in all health care sectors in Northern Ireland and aims to recognise those who have succeeded in raising standards of care for their patients and clients.

• If you are successful at shortlisting stage, the judging will take place on 19 March 2026.
  

The Learning in Practice Award is open to all registered nurses working in health and social care in Northern Ireland who have provided support for learning and development to a health care assistant, nursing student or registered nurse. 

• If you are successful at shortlisting stage, the judging will take place on 31 March 2026.

The Student Award is open to all pre-registration nursing and midwifery students in Northern Ireland. 

• If you are successful at shortlisting stage, the judging will take place on 23 March 2026.

This award aims to recognise a registered nurse or health care support worker who has made an outstanding contribution to care within the independent sector in Northern Ireland. 

• If you are successful at shortlisting stage, the judging will take place on 20 March 2026.
  

• If you are successful at shortlisting stage, the judging will take place on 1 April 2026.

Patients, clients or relatives can nominate someone whom they believe has made a difference and gone that extra bit further to ensure that the patient or client has received the highest standards of care.
