As the home to Europe’s largest nursing-specific collection we look forward to 2021 with excitement. To bring the Library and Archive Service (LAS) into line with wider RCN strategic planning cycles, we are setting out a one-year plan that will see us through to 2022.

Blood and Body Fluid Exposures in 2020
More than 7,500 members responded to our sharps survey in 2020. This report outlines the 2020 survey methodology and results, compares results with other databases where available, and makes recommendations on how the RCN can assist and lobby employers for safer sharps in the workplace. This research project was enabled by an educational grant from Sharpsmart UK Ltd.

Modern Ward Rounds: Good Practice for Multidisciplinary Inpatient Review
This publication is currently under review: the RCP plan to revise this report in 2026 and the new updated version will be endorsed by the RCN, in 2026. A new report from UK health care professional leaders, and developed along with patients, sets out best practice for modern ward rounds. The guidance was produced by the Royal College of Physicians, Royal College of Nursing, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, NHS England and has the support of the GIRFT programme.
