If you work in Devon you are automatically a member of our branch, as long as your records are up to date.

We are active in all areas of the NHS and private sector in and around the Exeter and North Devon area.

Devon branch meetings aim to support members in practice, education and continuing development. We are forward thinking and always looking for new ideas, ways of working and developing the branch. We welcome members looking to become more involved, perhaps by becoming an RCN representative or by simply attending meetings and bringing along your passion for nursing and supporting nursing staff in a variety of areas. With such a wide knowledge base and diverse areas of expertise within the branch, we always provide good peer support to all representatives, wherever they work.

Devon branch is the voice of RCN members across Devon, not including Plymouth which is covered by its own branch. As well as sending delegates to RCN's annual Congress, the branch has representation on the RCN's regional board. We hold regular meetings where we discuss issues of concern to local members. As a member you are invited to attend our monthly branch meetings. If you have a problem in your workplace, please contact your local steward in the first instance, or call RCN Direct on 0345 772 6100.

Branch meetings

Devon branch meetings are generally held on the first Tuesday of every month, from 7pm to 8:30pm.

Come along to find out more about what we do and have your voice heard. If you would like more information, or to book your place, please email Kevin Hickson:

We plan to have different topics for each session. If you are interested in any topic which you would like us to cover, please feel free to contact Kevin, and we will endeavour to facilitate this.
