Elements of Research in Nursing

Eleanor Walters Treece and James William Treece

Kate Seers, Professor

Reason you chose this book

This was my first textbook about research in nursing. It got me interested in research from early on in my nursing career and I’ve been doing it ever since!

Review

In the pre-internet era (hard to remember now!) this textbook gave me an overview of research, and all the different things to consider. It was reassuring to be able to read more about each aspect of research. Now, of course, the book is yellow and dated, but I can’t quite bear to part with it.  I understand the epilogue better now “Research in any discipline can be a monetary affair based on research grants, or it can be a matter of desire and a means of satisfying intellectual curiosity, we sincerely hope you have the latter before the former.”
