RCN Wales responds to Welsh Government's NHS pay award for 2025/26
Nursing staff employed on Agenda for Change (AfC) contracts in Wales have been awarded a 3.6% pay increase across all bands, backdated to 1 April 2025.
Eligible members will be able to take part in a consultation on the award. Check your details are up to date to make sure you can vote and we’ll be in touch soon about the consultation opening.

Engagement event for Health Care Support Workers in Wales re the introduction of the Registered Nursing Associate role - online, 17 June 2025, 1pm - 2pm
This is a 1-hour online webinar for health care support workers across Wales to get an update from the RCN Wales team about how we are engaging in the development of the Registered Nursing Associate role in Wales. This session will outline work undertaken to date, potential pathways and opportunities for existing healthcare support workers and implications for existing band 4s. The latest on the Fair pay for Nursing Campaign in Wales
In November 2024, 72% of eligible RCN Wales members working for NHS Wales voted to reject a 5.5% pay award from the Welsh government. The pay award applied to the 2024-25 financial year. Read the news story in full here.
