RCN Oxfordshire Branch
If you're an RCN member working in Oxfordshire, you're automatically a member of our Oxfordshire branch. Welcome to your nursing community.
Our branch includes members working at NHS, independent, higher education and care home employers, as well as students.
Getting involved in our branch means more than attending meetings. Whether you’re organising for better conditions, supporting a colleague or pushing for systemic change, your involvement helps turn shared concerns into collective action.

Meet your Oxfordshire Branch team:
Jo has become more involved with the RCN over the last 6 years including as a steward for 5 years, which she has found both rewarding and interesting. She has assisted in organising RCN events and stands. She is delighted to represent the branch at events and meet more members during the year.
Gabriel is a student at Oxford Brookes University where he is currently in his second year of studying Adult Nursing. He is the Student Lead for the Oxfordshire Branch Committee team.
He is also currently serving as an RCN Student Ambassador at Oxford Brookes, where he acts as a link between the RCN and student members. In this role, he promotes engagement with RCN campaigns, events and resources, signposts students to professional and wellbeing support, and helps to ensure student voices are heard within the wider organisation.
He is attending RCN Congress in 2026 for the first time and is particularly looking forward to learning more about national discussions affecting nursing, observing how motions are debated, and gaining a deeper understanding of how policy shapes the nursing profession. He is also keen to network with members from across the country, represent the student voice, and bring back new insights and learning to share with healthcare students at Oxford Brookes.

Our branch annual general meeting (AGM)
Every year, our branch holds its AGM, where we:
- review our branch activity over the past 12 months
- map out what we want to achieve over the next year
- elect the branch committee for the coming year
- discuss with your fellow branch members the issues which are most important to you right now
This is your chance to help set the nursing agenda. Our AGM is held in September or October and details of the next AGM will be posted in the events section as soon as available.
Our branch and RCN Congress
All members can attend RCN Congress for free. There are also fully funded voting places for members, where travel, accommodation and food are provided. Voting members are there to listen, participate and vote on resolutions that are proposed by RCN branches, forums and committees across the UK.
Applications for funded voting places at Congress 2026 are open until 7 December 2025. To find out more, including how to apply, explore our Congress webpages.
