RCN Northern Ireland Independent Sector

In Northern Ireland, we have a significant number of RCN members employed in the independent sector. These members consist of nurses and Health care Assistants/Nursing Assistants.

This page shall provide all RCN members employed in the independent sector an opportunity to engage further with the RCN professional development resources and provide relevant beneficial signposting to all that the RCN offer.

The RCN in Northern Ireland has member-led networks that provide an opportunity for professional networking and support. These networks are the ‘Independent Sector Nurse Managers Network’ and the ‘Independent Sector Registered Nurse Network’. Both networks are supported by the Independent Sector staff link Brenda Rushe, Senior Nurse Professional Practice.

If you are interested in joining either of the independent sector networks, please contact Brenda Rushe at
