Library Europe's largest nursing-specific collection

You said, we did

We're always trying to improve our services and listen to your feedback. Here are some of the changes we've made this year.

I'm having trouble accessing the Nursing Times online.

We have improved our Nursing Times access and it is fully linked to Library search

An improved service is now available via the Ovid journals platform.

Accessing your resources is difficult.

We've made it simpler

We have simplified access to our resources through library search and introduced single sign on so your RCN log in works for everything.

The library website is difficult to use.

We've improved navigation and the language used.

We have re-designed our website layout to make it simple and used plain English.

Literature search webpage leads to nowhere.

We've changed the layout of our pages.

We redesigned our literature search pages to make information easier to find.

I need help with searching but can't find a free 1 to 1 session to book.

We have made more training slots available.

Our Information Team has created more flexibility in the booking system with more slots available throughout the year.

I don’t carry around my RCN number to log in for e-resources.

We've set up access using your email or membership number.

You can now log in using your email address.

The process for renewing books is too difficult.

Books have been automatically renewed until 1 September

During the COVID-19 outbreak, all items have been automatically renewed until September. There is also a video showing how to renew books.

It would be good to have evaluation forms or an app for providing feedback after events.

Online feedback has been introduced.

We have started to use polling software (Mentimeter) to collect feedback after virtual events and will consider using it when we return to face to face events.

There should be more diversity on panels at your events.

We will ensure better representation.

It has been agreed that any panel of more than three people at our events will include at least one BAME representative, wherever possible.

Can you make copies of RCN guidance documents more easily available.

RCN publications are online.

RCN publications can be found and downloaded through the RCN library catalogue.
