We're always trying to improve our services and listen to your feedback. Here are some of the changes we've made this year.
I can’t always find what I’m looking for.
We're making it simpler
We’ve simplified our website to make journal articles easier to find and click on, and worked to improve our content so that it’s more visible in public search engines.
I need more information in a specific clinical area.
We've added more subject guides
We’ve published a new subject guide for the private sector, as well as guides for criminal justice and paediatric palliative care
I’d like regular updates on new information and developments.
We've launched keeping up to date webpages
These will help you stay up-to-date with new developments.
Online resources are hard to access.
We've launched single sign on
Our new single sign on for our online resources means you can now log in on our website with the email address we have on your record or membership number. We’ve launched additional videos and guides to help members access our services.
I’d like 24 hour access to library services.
More digital resources
We’ve increased investment in our digital resources, which are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Your World War One nursing archives are hard to explore.
New Service scrapbooks website
We launched a Service scrapbooks website, which provides a wealth of information on nursing in the World War One. We have also redesigned the archives webpages to make them more visible and easier to use.
I find it very hard to use online articles and can’t always access the full article I want.
We've improved our user pathways
We’ve worked with our suppliers to make our user pathways easier and more accessible for our members.
Signposting on your website is unclear.
Better website navigation
We’ve simplified and renamed our navigation menus to help make the most popular pages clearer and more visible.
Books or journals I’m looking for are often missing or unavailable.
We've done a full stock check
This should ensure items are where they are supposed to be.
I’d like more emails to remind me about the library services, and information on databases for journal, article or book searches.
New update emails
We’ve introduced a new twice yearly email for RCN reps and have a bi-monthly email anyone can sign up to.
I’d like someone to show me how to source information from all your resources.
We've increase our training sessions
We offer drop ins and 121 training sessions almost every day and introduced Saturday sessions this year.
