    White Ribbon Day 2020 falls on Wednesday 25 November and will again seek to raise awareness of domestic violence against women. A campaign originally targeting men and boys in Canada to raise awareness of violence against women and promote healthy relationships, White Ribbon Day now has global recognition.

    The impact of Domestic Abuse on an individual’s mental health is known to have a significant  impact and can result in severe anxiety and depression but what is less discussed is its prevalence for those experiencing psychosis, mood disorders, substance misuse,  life threatening self-harming behaviour and suicide. Whether being the victim of domestic abuse or witnessing it within the home the long-term impact can be catastrophic.
