Topic - On arrival and settling in the UK
Join our live events and be part of and support RCN’s community of internationally educated nursing professionals (IENs). The RCN recognises the enormous contribution IENs make to health and social care, and we understand the specific challenges IENs face when first arriving and working in the UK. Our series of live events will assist IENs with these challenges and provide the opportunity to ask questions.
This live event will provide guidance on settling in the UK for internationally educated nursing (IEN) staff and students – both newly arrived and those located overseas and considering migrating to the UK. We'll be joined by:
- RCN Member – Alphy Bijo, Nursing Student
- RCN Member – Suresh Packiam, Head Of Service (Countywide-Planned Care), representative of British Indian Nurses Association
- Claire Cannings, a Senior Welfare Adviser with years of experience within the RCN’s member support services.
Topics include:
- Cost of living
- Climate
- Childcare and Education
- Registering with a GP and dentist
- Housing
- General - Welfare
