14 May 2024, 10:00 - 12:30
Choose event information:
A participatory workshop led by a published writer, who will help you to gain the skills needed to effectively edit and proofread your writing.
Would you like to learn to edit and proofread your work? Join the Royal Literary Fund in a practical, hands-on workshop.
You will learn about, discuss and practice the basics of editing and proofreading. This will include working on sample texts individually, editing an existing short piece of your own work and proofreading a sample text. The workshop will include group discussion, breakout rooms and individual writing time. This workshop should be applicable to any of your writing, whether it's reflective/expressive, a piece of journalism or academic writing. There will be handouts and suggestions to help you take away some of what you learn so you can apply it yourself afterwards.
Royal Literary Fund writers work in universities, with businesses and charities, and with NHS trusts to show people how to approach and plan different types of writing and to help them feel proud of their finished work.
This is an event for RCN members.
You will need your membership number in order to book. We are offering limited places to ensure participants get the most out of their time with our writers.
