RCN Wales will be hosting the Betsi Cadwaladr Biennial Lecture on Thursday 9 May 2024, in St. Asaph, North Wales.
Join us for an exciting evening, opened by Professor Donna Mead OBE, CStJ, FRCN with additional special guests, giving a brief history of the life of Welsh nurse, Betsi Cadwaladr, and hear from special guest speaker, International Bestselling author, Amanda Prowse.
Amanda Prowse is an International Bestselling author whose twenty-seven novels, two non-fiction books and nine short stories, have been published worldwide in dozens of languages. Her chart topping No.1 titles ‘What Have I Done?’, ‘Perfect Daughter’, ‘My Husband’s Wife’, 'The Girl in the Corner' and 'The Things I Know' have sold millions of copies around the world.
Amanda has previously taken part in our RCN Wales Journal Club in 2022, where Amanda and her son, Josiah Hartley, discussed their book 'The Boy Between', and we are delighted to have her join us for the Betsi Cadwaladr lecture.
Registration and welcome refreshments will be available from 5.30pm, with the lecture commencing at 6pm and will be followed by a buffet dinner at approx. 7.15pm, with the event closing at 8pm.

When arriving at the Faenol Fawr, we do not have a designated disabled parking area, we ask that you unload at beginning of the pathway down to the reception area (assistance is available) we will then advise you with regard to parking.
If motorised scooters or wheelchairs are required these can usually be hired at a cost from a local company, these are best booked in advance.
The Country House has a small step situated at the main entrance; the reception entrance has a level surface and two double doors upon entering. The reception desk may be too high for those in a wheelchair; if this is the case an alternative surface may be provided.
We have public toilets and an accessible unisex toilet on the ground floor, each have a small step if coming from the reception area, otherwise easy access, the lounge areas are spacious and will easily accommodate wheelchairs.
Unfortunately we do not have a lift in the main hotel available to transport our disabled guests upstairs – however, assistance is readily available.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the hotel.
On-site parking is available at the hotel (up to 100 spaces available).
There is a bus stop approximately 5 minute walk from the main hotel, the nearest train station is a 10 minute drive from where the hotel is situated.
