RCN member survey: make your voice heard

1 Sep 2022

Help us plan our future and shape our response to the COVID-19 public inquiry.

Safe staffing survey

Today (1 September), the RCN has launched a survey asking members to tell us what matters to them and contribute to its 5-year strategy.

The survey is open until 11 September and takes just 5 minutes to complete. You’ll be asked for your views on:

  • the biggest challenges facing nursing
  • our key areas of focus between 2023-2028
  • the RCN’s current performance including what we offer as a professional body, Royal College and trade union
  • why you joined the RCN.

Since 2020, the nursing workforce has been under increasing pressure, making it even more difficult to provide safe and effective patient care. Whatever role you do, nursing is going through the greatest period of change in its history. We want to make sure the RCN is the voice of nursing, representing members at the front of those developments.

Within the survey you’ll also have the opportunity to shape our response to the COVID-19 public inquiries. In the months and years ahead, inquiries will look at how politicians and government bodies acted over the last few years. The RCN has appointed a leading barrister, Fenella Morris QC, to represent your experiences since 2020. Whether you were in care homes, general practice, hospital services or anywhere else we need to hear from you.

The survey will be managed by independent market research agency Research by Design, ensuring all responses remain confidential.

We need to hear your voice and appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey.

The survey will be sent by email so please keep an eye on your inbox.
