SSSC intends to require support workers, practitioners and supervisors employed within an adult day care service in Scotland to be subject to registration with the SSSC.

RCN Scotland supports this proposal to enhance workforce professionalism and public safety but has urged the Scottish Government and SSSC to provide robust transitional arrangements to support existing staff in meeting new qualification requirements, including funded time for learning and completion of qualifications.
