SCoPE Practice Development Partnership programme

The RCN has recently introduced Supporting Compassionate Practice Environments (SCoPE), a new framework for nursing teams.

The framework aims to create compassionate, psychologically safe working environments where staff feel supported, valued and able to deliver the safe, compassionate and effective care expected of them.

Following on from this, we are delighted to now be able to share the SCoPE Practice Development Partnership (PDP), a new facilitated, team-level improvement programme that supports wards, community teams and primary care services to:

  • reflect on their culture using the SCoPE standards
  • identify and implement practical improvements
  • build sustainable, compassionate ways of working

For further information on the framework, read our blog by Dr Stephen Jones, Head of Nursing Practice, who introduces SCoPE and shares the background to this work.

Key features of the programme

  • Developmental (not inspection, accreditation or assurance)
  • Low governance, high support model
  • Focus on real teams, real change, real context

PDP provides support, not judgement – improving culture where it actually exists: at team level.
