Workplace Incivility Masterclass

Foster a more inclusive workplace culture and improve service delivery

Bullying, harassment, and incivility involving NHS staff could be costing the health service around £2.3 billion a year, according to a study published in the journal BMC Medicine.

A poll carried out by the Harvard Business Review found that most staff that experienced workplace incivility lost work time worrying about the incident and avoiding the offender and their commitment to the organisation declined, with as many as 12% leaving their job because of the uncivil treatment. Two thirds said their performance declined and almost half intentionally decreased their work effort and the time spent at work. 25% admitted to taking their frustrations out on customers.

Our one-day masterclass has been designed to support staff to learn more about workplace incivility, it’s impact and ways to address it. With these tools, your staff can foster a more inclusive workplace culture to improve service delivery and patient experience.

The masterclass supports you and your team to:

  • Explore the collective experiences of workplace incivility and the impact it has on the team, the workforce and service delivery,
  • Learn the tools for addressing incidents of incivility they witness or experience in the workplace, and;
  • Practice using the tools in real world scenarios in our Learning Lab.
