RCN Representatives of the Year

Rewarding accredited RCN representatives who have gone the extra mile

As an RCN member or member of staff, if you know an RCN representative who has gone that extra mile to make a real difference to members in the workplace, you can nominate them for an RCN Representative of the Year Award.

Award categories

Awards are available for the following categories:

  • Learning Representative of the Year
  • Safety Representative of the Year
  • Steward of the Year.

Who can be nominated

This award is for accredited RCN representatives who have made a difference in their workplace and shown outstanding commitment to the RCN and its members.

They may have:

  • improved health and safety in the workplace
  • pioneered a new learning initiative
  • resolved workplace issues or disputes
  • demonstrated achievements in representation and consultation.

Members of the UK representative committees are not eligible for nomination.

Who should nominate

You should think about nominating someone for an award if you:

  • have been personally supported and represented by an exceptional RCN representative
  • are a manager or employer of a representative who has made a real difference in your workplace
  • have witnessed exceptional service and support by an RCN representative.

The prize

Those who are selected to receive an award will be invited to attend an awards ceremony at RCN Congress.

The prize for each award winner is £500, while commendees receive £250.

Members who nominate the winner will receive £100, and those who nominate a commendee will receive £50.

The awards are sponsored by LV=, the RCN’s approved provider of consumer insurance products.
