Our Know Your Worth Roadshows have been making their way across the North West, and it has been fantastic to meet so many members in their workplaces. Visiting Trusts and speaking face to face with staff has given us a valuable opportunity to discuss the issues that matter most, answer questions, and hear directly about members' experiences.
The roadshows are all about making sure members understand their rights, their value, and the importance of being paid correctly for the work they do. Ensuring that staff are placed in the correct pay band is essential to making sure they are fairly recognised and rewarded for the responsibilities and duties they are actually carrying out. Too often, roles evolve over time, with staff taking on additional responsibilities that may not be reflected in their current banding. Through these conversations, we're helping members understand the rebanding process and highlighting the importance of challenging situations where pay does not accurately reflect the work being undertaken.
As we've travelled across the region, we've also been listening carefully to what members are telling us. Every Trust visit has provided useful insights into the challenges staff are facing, as well as examples of good practice and local successes. We have been keeping track of the key themes and issues that are emerging, helping us build a clearer picture of what matters most to members across the North West.
Of course, no roadshow update would be complete without mentioning a certain colour scheme. I have now well and truly proven that I enjoy a theme, with my collection of yellow accessories accompanying me across the region. Whether it's a scarf, earrings, shoes/wellies, or something else entirely, the yellow has become a familiar feature of the roadshows and has certainly helped make us easy to spot!
One of the most encouraging aspects of the roadshows has been the level of interest from members who want to become more involved. We have had lots of conversations with people interested in becoming workplace representatives and finding out more about how they can support colleagues, raise concerns, and help drive positive change within their Trusts. The enthusiasm and commitment we have seen has been inspiring, and we are excited to support those taking their first steps into representative roles.
The roadshows have already delivered so many positive conversations, but we're not finished yet. We are looking forward to visiting even more Trusts, meeting more members, and continuing to spread the message that everyone should know their worth and be paid appropriately for the work they do.
A huge thank you to everyone who has stopped by to chat, share their experiences, ask questions, or express an interest in getting involved. We can't wait to continue the journey and see where the next Know Your Worth Roadshow takes us.
See you on the next stop and, yes, the yellow accessories will be there too! 💛
