Our 2025 Fertility Nursing Conference – A quick look back

Anne Howard 16 Dec 2025

This blog reflects on the 2025 RCN Fertility Nursing Conference and the feedback we received about the sessions, topics and interactive style of the day. It’s relevant to fertility nursing because it highlights what matters most to nurses right now and how these insights will shape future learning.

This year’s conference had such a warm, positive feel to it. So many people told us how much they loved the mix of sessions and how refreshing it felt to be part of something a little different. We really wanted the day to feel practical, honest and built around what matters to fertility nurses right now, and it was great to hear that come through so clearly in the feedback.

People talked a lot about how useful the sessions were. The opening icebreaker on the realities of fertility nursing really set the tone and helped everyone settle into the day. The PCOS session sparked loads of interest, especially around nurse-led support and how fast things are moving in the FemTech space. Fertility preservation in oncology was another highlight, and several people said it gave them ideas they could take straight back into practice. The session on supporting trans people in fertility care also stood out and many shared how important it felt to have that included. We also had brilliant engagement with the abstract and poster-writing session, with lots of nurses saying it gave them the confidence to finally put themselves forward.

A lot of people mentioned how much they valued the emotional wellbeing session and how real and relatable it felt. The panel discussion at the end brought everything together and gave space for open conversation, which people really enjoyed.

One of the best parts of the day was how interactive everything felt. Whether it was sharing experiences, asking questions or getting involved in discussions, it was clear that people loved having that space plus the excellent opportunity to network with fellow fertility nurses and midwives from all around the country and the world, we even had delegates from Cyprus.

We’re already thinking ahead to the 2026 event, and we’d love to hear your ideas. If there’s a topic you want to see next year or something you think would make the day even better, please let us know.

Your feedback genuinely shapes what we do next.
