Join us for the AGM of the Cheshire branch, taking place online and open to all branch members
The AGM is the time to review your activities as a branch from over the past twelve months and make plans for the year ahead. It's your opportunity to get involved in shaping the future of your branch, have your say on how it's run and learn more about the activities it undertakes.
If you're new to the RCN and this is your first AGM, please get involved - it's a great way to meet colleagues and other RCN members and influence the types of activities and events that you feel would be useful to you.
Governance roles
An AGM is also the time to agree a branch committee structure and to elect members to key committee roles. Any member of a branch can stand for one of the governance roles and if a role is contested an election may be held.
As a minimum, each Branch must have a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. These roles ensure that the branch meets all governance requirements, schedules and leads on branch meetings and activities and provide a direct link to the team at the regional office. What these roles involve is explained here.
There are also opportunities to lead on areas that matter most to you, such as equity, diversity and inclusion, students, nursing support workers, learning events, communications or member engagement.
Taking on one of these roles is a brilliant opportunity for personal development and you will be supported by the RCN when you start. If you are interested in one of these roles, then please complete this form before the AGM.
