Are you interested in finding out about the anti-racism work going on in your particular nation (England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland)? Do you have ideas on how confidence can be increased in addressing racism?
2026 RCN Congress resolution- RCN to develop and implement a UK-wide programme to build the confidence of nursing staff in addressing racism, including training, guidance, and accessible reporting support mechanisms.
As part of the RCNs ongoing anti-racism work, the anti-racism subgroup country leads are hosting short online sessions to build a profile of current member confidence, knowledge and skill on racism and share some insights into the development of the RCN anti-racism plans.
These sessions will be focussing on sharing some country-specific insights and building a picture of the levels of confidence and skill that participant have in relation to identifying and responding to racism. The sessions will therefore be open and welcome everyone.
Despite our best efforts, online environments cannot be guaranteed as safe spaces to share personal experiences of racism nor the details of any ongoing or previous cases. We ask RCN members to ensure that they abide by the RCN RESPECT charter and exercise their professional judgement about the information that they share in online spaces.
