Join us to hear about the job evaluation process. Ask questions and be inspired to make changes to have your worth recognised.
RCN members at North West Anglia NHS FT and Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS FT are invited to join us to learn more about job evaluation and the RCN's work to help nursing staff secure the pay and recognition they deserve.
The review of all Band 5 nursing roles in NHS trusts in England has brought renewed focus to whether nursing roles are accurately described and fairly banded. Although Band 5 roles are being prioritised, the principles of job evaluation apply to every Agenda for Change role, and members at any band are welcome to attend.
Across the NHS, many roles have evolved as staff have taken on greater knowledge, responsibility, autonomy and complexity. Job descriptions and banding outcomes have not always kept pace with these changes.
At this session, led by RCN Eastern Pay Delivery Officer Steve Haynes, you will learn:
- what the Band 5 nursing review means for members
- how NHS job matching and evaluation work
- why accurate job descriptions and person specifications matter
- how to obtain and understand your Matched Job Report
- what evidence can help demonstrate the requirements of your role
- how the RCN's Know Your Worth guidance can support you and your colleagues
Even if you are unsure whether your role is affected, this session will help you understand how your pay band is determined and the practical steps you can take to ensure your role is properly recognised.
