19 Dec 2025, 11:00 - 13:00
Choose event information:
RCN Suffolk members are invited to attend your learning event and branch Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The focus of the learning event will be neurodiversity awareness and will be delivered by Romilly O'Driscoll, Lead Practice Education Facilitator for Clinical Education at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. Romilly has more than a decade of professional experience in helping learners, and the people supporting them, to put the right adjustments in place so neurodivergent students can do their best in practice.
Suitable for everyone, regardless of your role or whether you work in the NHS or independent sector, topics will include raising awareness of the strengths, challenges and limitations of different neurodiverse conditions, the legal responsibilities outlined in the Equality Act 2010 and potential reasonable adjustments. The Equality Act 2010 legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society. It replaced previous anti-discrimination laws with a single act, making the law easier to understand and strengthening protection in some situations. It sets out the different ways in which it is unlawful to treat someone. As well as our learning event, this session will also incorporate your branch AGM. If you can attend one branch meeting a year, then please make it the AGM. Come along and help make a difference, by shaping local branch activities for the year ahead and electing your branch committee members. Branch meetings provide opportunities for you to have your say on how the branch is run and learn more about the activities it undertakes.
Could you help lead the branch?
Why not consider standing for one of the branch committee posts? Being a branch committee member is a great personal and professional development opportunity. Find out more about the roles here. If you'd like to nominate yourself for a committee position, please use this form.
The session will take place online via Microsoft Teams and a link to join the meeting will be sent to you once you're registered to attend. When joining the meeting, please make sure you are clearly identified with your name on screen so we can admit you quickly to the event. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know when booking your place. If joining from a mobile device, you may find it useful to download the MS Teams app in advance of joining the session.
We look forward to seeing you at a meeting soon.
