RCN Hertfordshire learning event: Right care, right place
22 Jun 2026, 12:00 - 15:00
Choose event information:
RCN Hertfordshire members are invited to attend your branch learning event on getting patients the right care in the right place.
Clinical nurse specialist Natasha Emery will lead a session on unscheduled care and clinical decision-making.
Natasha works for the East of England Ambulance Service, based in a community hub, where she helps clinically validate calls to 999 and pass to community services where appropriate. This helps protect the 999 service from improper use by both patients and clinicians, and by working in partnership the team can get ambulances to life-threatening emergencies in a timely manner.
The ambulance service is an emergency service but unfortunately it is sometimes used inappropriately, affecting its ability to attend situations that require immediate response. Natasha's role is to identify 999 calls that would be suitable for community care, or do not require an emergency ambulance but would benefit from alternative pathways such as primary care, minor injuries, hospital at home or patients who can make their own way to hospital. This is how they ensure patients get the right care in the right place. Join this learning event to find out more about Natasha's role and clinical decision-making.
This session is also an opportunity to network with other members from across your branch and speak to your branch executive team.
The session will be held on Microsoft Teams. A link to join the meeting will be sent to you once you register your details to attend. If joining from a mobile device, you may find it useful to download the MS Teams app in advance of the session.
We look forward to seeing you at an event soon.
