This live panel discussion is designed to support nursing students and newly registered nurses preparing to enter the workforce.
Today’s graduate nursing job landscape means it may be more challenging to secure your first registered nurse post, particularly in England and Wales. This session will provide practical guidance, reassurance and insight to support you during this time and help you prepare for your transition into a newly registered nurse role.
You’ll hear from four newly registered nurses who have recently moved from education into practice, sharing their experiences of different career paths, how they got their first roles, and what starting out has been like for them.
What you’ll learn
During the session, panellists will discuss:
- Their experiences of transitioning from student to registered nurse
- How they applied for and secured their first roles
- The challenges they faced and how they managed them
- Key lessons and advice for those starting out
The session will be chaired by Ruth Jones from the RCN Careers Team, who will share practical advice, answer key questions, and guide you through the career support available to RCN members.
Who should attend
- Nursing students
- Newly registered nurses
- Internationally educated nurses considering employment in the UK
