Choose event information:
This webinar will support emergency care nurses, managers and mentors to understand the framework's competencies, the sign-off process, and the pathways available to achieve them. The framework provides a structured and standardised approach to professional development, helping nurses across urgent and emergency care settings build the competence and confidence needed to provide excellent care.
This session is designed for registered nurses, practice assessors, mentors, and clinical leaders working across urgent and emergency care. It will provide practical guidance on both achieving and supporting achievement of the framework's competencies.
The framework offers a nationally recognised structure for professional development, bringing consistency, clarity, and standardisation to emergency nursing practice. It supports nurses to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality care across a wide range of urgent and emergency care settings.
During the webinar, we will:
- Explore the Level 1 and 2 competencies in detail.
- Highlight tools and resources available to support learning and development.
- Discuss approaches to evidencing competence and professional achievement.
- Provide guidance for those responsible for supporting, assessing, and signing off competencies.
The session will be delivered by members of the RCN Urgent and Emergency Care Forum, including Advanced Clinical Practitioner Matt Osborne and Registered Nurse Natalie Stringer, with additional forum members available to share expertise, answer questions, and support discussion.
Whether you are beginning your competency journey, working towards sign-off, or supporting others in their development, this webinar will help you navigate the framework with confidence and maximise its value for your professional practice.
