Annual general meeting- AGM
As part of the day, RCN members will also have the opportunity to take part in the Plymouth branch annual general meeting, or AGM.
This is your chance to have a direct say in the future direction of your local branch, hear about branch activities and help shape priorities for the coming year.
We're also seeking enthusiastic members who would like to become more involved in branch leadership and activities. Whether you're interested in representing students, supporting equality, diversity and inclusion, helping to organise learning events, improving communications or taking on one of the branch officer roles, we'd love to hear from you.
The branch executive committee is currently inviting expressions of interest, including for the core roles of:
- Chair
- Secretary
- Treasurer.
There are also a range of other committee positions that offer opportunities to champion issues you care about and make a real difference to local members.
Before expressing interest, please read the branch role descriptors. Members wishing to stand for a role should submit a written expression of interest before the AGM.
Formal applications received in advance will take precedence over nominations made on the day. To express your interest look out for a branch expression of interest form which is due to appear soon on the RCN 'Current elections and appointments' webpage. If you can't see it and can't wait to express your interest, email southwestern.region@rcn.org.uk with your name and membership number, explaining why you would like what role and for what branch.
Places
There are only 50 places available, making early booking essential.
The event is primarily for RCN members, although up to 10% of places may be offered to non-members. Non-members are welcome to attend the learning sessions but will be asked to leave the room during the member-only AGM.
