Starting Strong: Essential Academic Skills for Nursing Students

This informative webinar will introduce first-year nursing students in Wales to key academic skills that will support both your studies and future nursing practice. You will explore the importance of evidence in healthcare and learn how library resources can help you access reliable information.
The session will also provide an overview of responsible AI use, academic integrity, academic writing, reflective practice and referencing.
By the end of the session, students will be familiar with these core concepts and know how to access further support and resources through RCN Libraries as you progress through your programme.
You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions directly to our RCN Wales Librarian and Information Services Manager.
Aimed at first-year nursing students, but open to all nursing students in Wales - you do not need to be an RCN member to join this event!

How to book

You can also book by telephone by calling our Events Registration team on 02920 546460 (Mon - Fri, 9am - 4.30pm), quoting event ID 6264.

This event will take place virtually via a Microsoft Teams meeting. You do not need to have a Teams account to view the meeting, the internet browser on any internet enabled device should work - you can view the event via a web browser, (recommended on desktop or laptop for full functionality) and on a phone or tablet you also have the option of downloading the free Microsoft Teams app. You will be sent a confirmation email once you have booked your place, and the link to join the event 48 - 24 hours before the event date.
