From understanding the theory behind organising to having the kinds of conversations that move people to action, and you’ll feel more confident leading collective action, mapping your workplace, and planning campaigns that make a difference.

Session 1: Theories of Power (11/11/25 - 6pm - 8pm)
Additional Session: (17/11/25 - 6pm - 8pm)
This session will explore power, strategy and theories underpinning concepts of the organising approach? As nursing professionals, we must ask ourselves...how do we harness the power we have as the RCN? And how do we build capacity at the workplace level to create change. How do we win the change we need for us, our patients and our profession? By the end of this session, you will feel more confident answering these questions, and what to expect from the Workplace Teams Pilot.
Session 2: Structured Conversations (03/12/25 - 6pm - 8pm)
Additional Session: (08/12/2025 - 6pm - 8pm)
Winning change requires getting more members active, but how do we do this when so many are overworked and short on hope? Structured conversations are a skill that allow us to really listen to our colleagues and move them to action on the issues that matter to them.

Session 3: Narrative Mapping and GOTV (In Person - Preston - 20th - 21st January)
Additional Digital Session: (31st Jan - 1st Feb)
This is a two day in-person event with travel and accommodation provided. We’re looking forward to bringing the workplace teams together to celebrate what we’ve achieved so far and continue our learning. We will be looking at developing our personal narratives and storytelling in the context of activism, our workplaces and the RCN.
We will then look at mapping the workplace: Organising is a strategic approach that is rooted in research and data. That means we need to have clear picture of our workplaces: mapping is how we identify our areas of strength and weakness, so we build the structures required to win.
Finally, we will take some time to walk through the mobilising techniques needed for large-scale turnout when voting is critical otherwise known as Get Out The Vote (GOTV).
Please ensure you have completed the registration form to secure your place.
