Know Your Worth: Rebanding the nursing workforce - what you need to do
27 Apr 2026, 18:00 - 19:00
Choose event information:
RCN Eastern members are invited to this session to find out more about the RCN's Know Your Worth guidance and rebanding of nursing roles.
We know many band 5 nurses are carrying out duties that far exceed the responsibility of the band they are being paid in. Now the government has committed to review the work and salary of every nurse paid at band 5.
They have committed to fund any uplifts in pay resulting from rebanding – but to ensure our members receive the pay uplifts they deserve, each job description needs to be a detailed, accurate and complete account of the work that you are doing.
This work will involve RCN staff, reps and members working together across the Eastern region.
As an RCN member, you can start the process for your own role by:
- Obtaining a copy of your existing job description
- Asking for a copy of the ‘matched job report’ for your role
- Familiarising yourself with the RCN's Know Your Worth guidance
To help guide you through the process and to find out more, you can also join this regional event led by RCN Eastern Pay Delivery Officer Steve Haynes.
We're also looking for more RCN reps in workplaces across the region to help support you and your colleagues during this process. Please visit the website to learn more.
Please book your place now to join us on Microsoft Teams on 27 April. We look forward to seeing you then.
