RCN Eastern members are invited to this 2026 Pride celebration exploring science and innovation within health care, sharing lived experiences and discussing personal journeys.
During the morning session, we will focus on lived experiences within the NHS and UK workforce. Speakers will share how health care professionals navigate cultural differences, language barriers and adjustment challenges while developing into leadership roles.
The afternoon session - Science in Pride - focuses on innovative projects, research and service improvements. Attendees will explore how LGBTQIA+ identity and lived experiences influence innovation and impact patient care, staff experience and wider health care systems.
This event is an opportunity to learn from health care professionals, including international staff and LGBTQIA+ voices, to build understanding of inclusive care and connect with colleagues, leaders and community groups.
Speakers will include:
Mr Dean Manuel Villarante: Quality improvement nurse manager for patient safety and sxperience
Sunny: An internationally-trained nurse
Bianca Ysabelle Castaneda Esmeralda: Senior nurse in critical care, UCLH NHS Foundation Trust

Both sessions conclude with a 30-minute audience Q&A and reflection time.
This celebration will bring members together at Colchester Hospital's Dame Clare Marx Building to hear powerful personal journeys and discuss professional growth.
