The RCN Eastern Board internationally educated nursing (IEN) professionals working group is hosting the 'Strategies for success when navigating your nursing career journey' event on 26 January 2026.
Aimed at internationally educated nursing staff, the 'Strategies for success when navigating your nursing career journey' event will offer attendees an insight into career progression pathways with practical advice on offer to help you reach your goals.
The RCN represents and supports nurses, midwives, nursing support workers and students, and this free, online event, will offer attendees an insight into career progression pathways with practical advice on offer to help you reach your goals. There will also be an opportunity to hear from internationally educated nurses about their career journeys for inspiration and guidance.
Event speakers will include: Ruby Lopez, RCN Cambridgeshire Branch Chair and Cultural Ambassador, who will explore career growth strategies and career planning models.
Julie Watkins, RCN Career Coach and Operational Lead, who will deliver a session called ‘Your career toolkit: CVs, supporting statements and interviews’ to boost confidence in using RCN career resources.
While Sarah Omode, RCN learning rep, will deliver 'From Nigeria to The Orchard' - exploring her journey to care home assistant practitioner and beyond, and how being an RCN representative has added value to her career journey.
The session will be held online using Microsoft Teams. A link to join the meeting will be sent to you once you register your details to attend. When joining the meeting, please make sure you are clearly identified with your name on screen so we can admit you quickly to the event.
