Build confidence in identifying trustworthy online information.
In today’s digital environment, we rely heavily on online information to support learning, professional nursing practice, and everyday decision making. This one-hour interactive session will help you develop skills to evaluate the reliability and quality of information you find on the web.
During this practical session, you will explore common types of problematic and misleading online information. You will be introduced to the SIFT method (Stop, Investigate, Find, Trace), a recognised approach for quickly evaluating online sources. Through guided activities, there will be opportunities for you to apply this method.
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Explain the importance of evaluating online information
- Evaluate online sources using the SIFT method
- Identify further resources to support your skills development
The session includes activities throughout, allowing you to apply your learning with support and guidance.
