RCN Northumberland Tyne and Wear Branch AGM and pensions advisor update

This is a chance for members to actively choose or join your branch team and influence next year's activity and priorities, while also refreshing and updating on the latest pensions intelligence.
We'll be conducting the business of the branch AGM and incorporating a visit from our very own Chair and Vice Chair of Council, Carmel O’Boyle and Natalie Brooks.
The event will include a presentation from Quilters, an RCN corporate partner, on pensions, including:
- how your NHS pension works
- what is the McCloud Remedy and does it affect me?
- when you can take your pension and how to work out how much you can expect to receive.

Express an interest in joining your branch executive committee
Did you know that there are three main types of branch executive role?
You can be a chair, a secretary and a treasurer. Northumberland, Tyne and Wear branch also have vacancies for president, vice chair and two branch committee members.
You can read about them and what they involve on the UK branches webpage, where you will also find a branch election nomination form that you should submit by no later than 1 September.
Under RCN governance rules, written expression of interest must take precedence over verbal ones made on the day of the meeting.
Written submissions sent into the office in advance will take precedence over those made verbally on the day of the meeting. This is an RCN governance rule to ensure fairness.
