Recent changes to the Health and Care Worker Visa have created significant uncertainty across adult social care. The closure of the visa route to care workers and senior care workers, alongside the introduction of Earned Settlement and the closure of the route, raises important questions about workforce supply, staff wellbeing, and the future sustainability of care services.
This webinar will provide an opportunity for RCN members working in the independent health and social care sector to reflect on what these changes mean for their workplaces, their colleagues, and the people they support.
Drawing on findings from the PRIME Project, a major European Research Council-funded study, we'll explore experiences of care workers and senior care workers who have come to the UK through the Health and Care Worker Visa route, and how immigration policy changes are affecting the people who provide care and the services that rely on them.
Together, we will explore how nursing staff can shape policy, advocate for fair and ethical employment practices, and help shape a more sustainable future for adult social care.
