Physical activity in women's health
14 Jul 2026, 13:00 - 16:00
Choose event information:
This session will support nursing staff to provide evidence-based information to women on physical activity, focusing on both treatment and prevention, as well as health inequalities.
A life course approach to physical activity and women’s health recognises that women’s health needs, opportunities, and barriers to activity change across different stages of life. Physical activity influences not only physical health, but also reproductive, mental, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and social wellbeing throughout the lifespan.
Learning objectives
- Demonstrate knowledge of current Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) guidelines for physical activity.
- Describe population physical activity at national and local levels.
- Explain the benefits of physical activity for the management and prevention of long term across the life course.
