Restoring Confidence, Sustaining Reflection (RCSR) is a restorative supervision refresher programme for Professional Nurse Advocates (PNAs) and experienced clinical supervisors, delivered through a half-day interactive workshop supported by a self-directed reflective workbook. It is designed to strengthen reflective practice, confidence and supervisory capability within psychologically safe, trauma-informed environments.
Programme aim
The programme aims to:
- review and reinforce the A-EQUIP model and its application in practice
- strengthen confidence in critical reflective practice, both individually and collectively
- embed restorative supervision within psychologically safe and trauma-informed learning spaces
- support PNAs to sustain their role in improving workforce wellbeing, resilience and compassionate care.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate PNA practice in the context of evolving workforce challenges and professional expectations.
- Reflect on and apply the principles of A-EQUIP and Restorative Clinical Supervision (RCS).
- Engage in safe, critical reflection on professional challenges and opportunities.
- Strengthen confidence in creating compassionate, psychologically safe and trauma-informed environments.
- Re-engage with PNA values, purpose and professional identity in practice.
Core content areas
The programme is structured around five key areas:
- Reflecting on PNA practice - Exploring role expectations, challenges and impacts across individuals, teams and organisations.
- A-EQUIP and Restorative Clinical Supervision - Revisiting the model’s components (advocacy, education, quality improvement, understanding and professional leadership) and applying these in practice.
- Critical reflective practice - Developing deeper reflective capability, including boundaries, accountability and supervisory relationships.
- Compassionate and psychologically safe practice - Building confidence in facilitating restorative supervision through compassion, psychological safety and trauma-informed approaches.
- Reconnecting with professional values and future practice - Re-engaging with purpose, vision and ongoing development as a PNA.
These are supported by structured reflective activities, supervision models, frameworks and applied exercises to enable translation into practice.
Learning approach
- Interactive workshop (peer learning, applied discussion).
- Guided reflective workbook (self-directed CPD and structured reflection).
- Use of established reflective and supervision models (e.g. A-EQUIP, trauma-informed supervision, reflective cycles).
- Focus on practice application and real-world challenges.
Output
- Minimum of 30 hours CPD evidenced through workbook completion and reflective engagement.
- Strengthened capability in restorative supervision and reflective leadership.

To make a booking:
Online bookings by credit/debit card are the easiest and fastest way to book 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Bookings can be made by phone with payment by credit card/Maestro, by calling +44 (0)2920 546460. Lines are open from 9.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Bookings can also be made via email with a downloaded booking form with credit card details or payment/remittance advice emailed to eventsreg@rcn.org.uk
All bookings will be confirmed in writing.
You will not be registered for this event unless payment accompanies your application. Places cannot be held provisionally.
The RCN reserves the right to refuse any booking at any time.

You can now pay for event bookings via secure link, please complete a downloaded booking form for each delegate (disregarding the payment section). Send the forms to eventsreg@rcn.org.uk, we will calculate the amount to be paid and email you the payment link from Elavon. The payment link will be valid for 7 days.
On receipt of your payment, we will book your space/s and send your delegate/s confirmation of their bookings.

A pdf copy of the official Purchase Order document from your organisation or company, addressed to supplier: Royal College of Nursing, 20 Cavendish Square, London. W1G 0RN. We are unable to process your order without it; requisition orders are not accepted.
Your Finance department/accounts payable contact email address to receive an electronic copy of the invoice from us.
A completed RCN Events Booking Form for each delegate in the booking.
Once the invoice has been raised, you will then receive confirmation of your booking. Invoices are to be paid within 30 days of the issue.
