What to do if you are assaulted at work
08 May 2026, 10:00 - 16:00
Choose event information:
An essential insight for members into what your rights are if you are assaulted at work.
This event explores the growing issue of violence and aggression toward nursing staff and how the law protects (and sometimes fails to protect) those working in frontline care. It will also review practical steps nurses can take when assaulted at work, and the responsibilities of employers and law enforcement agencies.
National RCN findings show a sharp rise in assaults against nurses, including physical attacks, spitting, verbal aggression, and threats. It's not acceptable and you shouldn't have to put up with it.
