Job evaluation roadshows: Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
22 Dec 2026 - 27 Jan
Choose event information:
Do you work at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board? We'll be there between 22 December 2026 - 27 January 2027 to talk to you about the RCN Know your worth campaign, what this means for you and how this can help you to go through the process of the job evaluation.
How much do you know about job evaluation, the new national nursing job profiles, and how this affects how much you get paid?
We'll be visiting University Hospital of Wales, The Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales, Llandough Hospital, and Hafan Y Coed, between 22 December 2026 - 27 January 2027, to speak to you about all this and more. We'll have stands where you can come and speak to us, as well as presentations to talk you through job evaluation, with the opportunity to ask us about what you can be doing now and what to expect.
Look out for us around the wards too where we'll be speaking to you and handing out further information and resources.
You can navigate around this page using the tabs at the top to find out more details about where we'll be and when.
Why this matters
In June 2025 the new national nursing profiles were published; these are used as part of the National Job Evaluation process to recognise the work that you do, and to make sure your pay reflects this accurately.
This, in turn, determines the pay bands for all NHS roles on Agenda for Change contracts.
Your job description is a crucial part of this and needs to be an accurate reflection of your role, we recognise that many Band 5 nurses are currently working over and above what is expected, without the acknowledgement in their pay packets. RCN believe that Nursing as a minimum is a Band 6 profession.
Annex 31 of the Agenda for Change terms and conditions details that all Job descriptions should be updated every 3 years, no matter which band you’re on.
This is your opportunity to speak to us and highlight your concerns, so you feel empowered to engage with the job evaluation process.
